Giving back to the community is essential.
Board of Directors
Leroy Mahoney, Founder, CEO & Director of Information Technology
Leroy Mahoney’s goal is to utilize the skills he has acquired over the past twenty years to enhance and enrich the lives of his community by teaching technology to those who might not be able to receive the training otherwise.
He is currently bi-vocational; serving as the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Saugus, MA and IT/Security Manager at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
As Pastor of First Baptist Church, he is not only a leader in the church but also in the community. He has instituted several after school programs which include teaching those in the community how to build and understand computers. He holds this FREE program each year for anyone who has an interest. The program includes, how the computer works, how to build a computer, how to remove viruses, and software installation. Upon completing this program, the newly built computers are then donated to anyone in need within the community. He has also instituted “Let’s Talk,” a program for those in the community who need a place to come together and discuss the many issues affecting the community.
Additionally, Rev. Mahoney teaches whoever is willing to learn, how to use the AV within the walls of his church. In fact, he has recently taught one of the young men how to effectively operate the sound system. He loves to share his technical knowledge (computers, sound equipment, and computer software) with others.
Rev. Mahoney is the President of the Baptist Minsters Conference of Boston & Vicinity, serves as the Recording Secretary for United Baptist Convention of MA, NH & RI, serves on the Executive Board of the Adoniram Judson Association, an association of The American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts (TABCOM); serves on the Interfaith Ministry in Saugus MA, and is a mentor to many young people in the community, regardless of their race, gender, faith, social or economic status.
Leroy is well educated, holds many Microsoft certifications and has years of experience in IT which he uses in his programs to provide the training needed for up and coming technicians of tomorrow.
Leroy is a retired member of the United States NAVY. While serving in the USN he received several Good Conducts awards along with two NAVY Achievement Medals; one was for risking bodily injury to self in order to protect his fellow sailors.
Leroy Mahoney is the husband of Natavia (Brown) Mahoney. They have one daughter, Shataya Monet Pope and they are very proud to have three godchildren, Brooklyn Cassidy Rucker, Isaiah Junior and Rachel Grace Beasley. He is the son of Thomas and Denia Mae Mahoney of South Carolina.
When asked why Leroy started CTCC, he responded, “If not me, who? Growing up with little or no funds in the home; if it wasn’t for the neighbors, my church family, and friends, many days I might not have eaten, taken bath, or even survived. I had a community that cared enough to give of what they had so that others could somehow catch a glimmer of hope. These last fifteen years have been my way of paying it forward because I realize there is a need for these types of programs. I want to affect the lives of those who attend! However, due to limited resources, I realized that I could not reach as many people as I wanted to, so I formed CTCC. Forming a non-profit will open the door to more resources to help further the strategy of empowering and enriching the lives of the community through technology and education.”
When Asked Leroy what is your biggest achievement today besides your faith. He answered, “My biggest achievement, to date, was when my brother and I were able to replace the mobile home we grew up in, over 35 years ago, for my mother. She is now in a brand new home equipped with central heating and air conditioning. A luxury we did not have as children. But what we missed out in “stuff”, mom made up for in love. She taught us love and the forgiveness of Christ.”
Natavia Mahoney, President
Natavia Joined CTCC on July 30, 2020. Her team’s work is focused on improving local and national student outcomes and disrupting educational inequities to ensure all students are afforded an opportunity to be successful.
Natavia’s decision to be a part of a non-profit was to serve a greater purpose. Nonprofit organizations give you the opportunity to make a difference and be part of creating a lasting impact. She especially looks forward to the opportunity to read the impact statements and testimonials of those who attend, which she finds immensely rewarding.
Natavia was born and raised in Lynn, Massachusetts. She graduated from Marian Court College in Swampscott, Massachusetts with an Associate in Science degree in Office Administration.
Natavia Mahoney began her career in Peabody, Massachusetts as a Legal Assistant at a mid-sized firm where she supported four Civil Litigation Attorneys.
